Finding Warmth Through Presence ☕

A little stillness goes a long way.

2025

Hello, friends!

As we step into the colder months, I’ve been reflecting on how easily we search for warmth outside of ourselves—through blankets, hot drinks, cozy sweaters—yet so much of our deepest warmth is something we can cultivate from within.

This month in class, our theme is “Warmth Through Presence.”
Not the kind of warmth that flickers in and out with the weather, but the steady, nourishing heat that grows when we slow down enough to feel our own aliveness.

Presence has its own temperature.

When we arrive fully in the moment—into the breath, into the body, into the truth of how we are—something softens. Shoulders drop, breathing evens out, and the busy edges of the mind begin to thaw. In that softening, warmth returns. It moves through us gently, like light spreading across a quiet room.

My hope is that this season becomes an invitation:
to pause,
to notice,
to reconnect,
and to let presence itself be a source of comfort.

On the mat, we’ll explore movement and stillness that generate inner heat—not only through effort, but through attention. Off the mat, I encourage you to find small moments each day to place a hand to the heart, breathe deeply, and remember that warmth lives within you, ready to be tended.

And now, as we approach the close of 2025, I want to offer a moment of shared reflection. This year has held its own mix of lessons and openings—for each of us individually and for our community as a whole. The practices we’ve moved through together… the pauses, the breaths, the strength built, the releasing… all of it has created a meaningful thread that has woven through our weeks.

Before the year turns, I invite you to take a quiet moment to acknowledge how far you’ve come. Notice the subtle ways you’ve grown, the small ways you’ve softened, the brave choices you’ve made toward caring for yourself. These moments matter. They accumulate. They shape the warmth you carry into the year ahead.

Thank you for showing up for yourselves, for showing up for each other, and for allowing this space to be a refuge of steadiness and connection. Your presence warms the room more than you know.

With gratitude,

I’ll be in the Studio for Slow flow classes with meditation at Samsara
on Mondays (5:30-6:30) and Wednesdays (7:00-8:00).
